Our goals

The Robotics and Intelligent Sensing Technical Committee (RIS-TC) strives to maintain SMC's leadership position in robotics and intelligent sensing research, provide strategic support to SMC members active in robotics and intelligent sensing research, and serve as a linkage between members of the RIS-TC and other technical committees within the IEEE SMC society. In addition, the RIS-TC is committed to facilitate collaborative efforts between SMC and other IEEE societies and non-IEEE professional societies in advancing fundamental and applied research in robotics and intelligent sensing.

What we are doing

  • Technical co-sponsorship of IEEE ICMA 2008.
  • Organization of special/invited sessions at IEEE SMC 2007/08.
  • Planning a special TSMC in 2008.
  • Technical co-sponsorship of SMC-DHMS 2008.

Scope and Title Change of the IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics

In November 2011, IEEE Technical Activities Board approved the scope and title change of the three SMC Transactions. [more]
