Our goals

Our goal is to provide forums for exchanging ideas among Soft Computing researchers and engineers through scientific events, such as organizing special sessions at SMC annual conferences, organizing/supporting international conferences and workshops, and editing special issues for SMC Society's publications.

What we are doing

  • We have organized special sessions (SS's) every year at the SMC annual conferences since SMC2001 and are one of the champion TC's that collected the most SS papers. Our TC was awarded by IEEE Most Active SMC Technical Committee Award in 2006 and 2009.
  • Our TC is one of the most active TC's in term of organizing/supporting international conferences where support means that our major TC members serve as the Chairs of Organizing Committees. We are organizing/organized ICCC2011, SOCO2011, DCAI2011, SoCPaR2011, CASoN2011, NWeSP2011, ISDA2011, NaBIC2011, INCOS2011, IAS2011, HIS2011, and ICETET2011. Our past organized conferences include INCoS 2010, CASoN 2010, HIS 2010, ISDA 2010, SoCPaR 2010 and NaBIC2010, ICETET2009, ISDA2009, HIS2009, NaBIC2009, SoCPaR2009, INCoS2009, MEDES2009, CASoN2009, EvoStar2009, HIS2008, ICCC2008, ICDIM2008, ISDA2008, and CSTST2008.
  • We edited a Special Issue on Soft Computing for the SMC Society's eNewsletter, No. 29 (Dec., 2009).
  • Please visit our Google Site on IEEE SMCS TC on Soft Computing for our detail activities and information.

Why don't you join us?

We are the most active TC that provides opportunities for exchanging technical ideas to TC members as you see the above our activities. Join our TC and enjoy members' privileges of:
  • Interacting with experts in soft computing such as neural networks, fuzzy systems, evolutionary computation or other biologically inspired systems that are rapidly growing research fields.
  • Participating in interesting conferences and workshops.
  • Making friends from different regions of the world.
  • Exchanging research ideas and possibly share research resources.
